ISIS Performance Teams Up with Enjuku Racing and Retaks to Compete in Formula DRIFT Atlanta
ISIS Performance has been making a huge splash on the industry with their high quality performance products at an affordable price. After years of research and development by teaming up with Enjuku Racing on the track going sideways, ISIS Performance decided it was time to team up with Enjuku Racing to build an S14 and put their proven products back on the professional track. So the goal was set to build a car at an affordable price that can compete with the pros at a fraction of the cost. With no huge budget in mind, Enjuku Racing used their years of experience in building cars to guide ISIS Performance on their S14 build.
In exchange for the SR20DET they have known to use throughout the years, Enjuku Racing decided to slug in a supercharged LS1 motor under the hood of the S14. The torque-heavy beast is powered with a set of ISIS Performance coilovers and arms. A fuel pressure regulator from ISIS was fitted on while cooling is handled with an ISIS radiator and fan shroud kit. The LS1 unleashes a throaty note right out of the 4-inch dual tip ISIS exhaust system. A SPEC Stage 4 clutch and flywheel kit gets all the power to the ground.
The exterior was kept simple and clean with an Origin spoiler and Seibon hood. A KRC LS1 Drift power steering pump aids the driver in flinging the S14 sideways. The S14 went sideways on Cooper Tires? newest RS3 drift tire.
Speaking of drivers, NOPI DRIFT champion Bill Sherman got behind the wheels of the ISIS Performance/Enjuku Racing/Retaks S14 for Formula DRIFT Round Two in Atlanta. Unfortunately for everyone involved, Sherman had very little seat time as the vehicle got completed just a few days before the event. He was unable to figure out the car in the two practice runs before qualifying but ISIS and Enjuku Racing are both thrilled and excited to see the car perform the way it did on the budget they set out with.
"The ISIS Performance parts performed great on the S14 and this car has everything it needs to compete with all the pros at Formula DRIFT," said Bill Sherman. "With more seat time and practice time, we could definitely be very competitive with this car, I look forward to being in it again."
